Why by bike?
The answer is simple.
By bike you get in touch with the elements. You see, hear, feel and even smell your surroundings. There are no stopping borders between you and the world. People will stare at you with great curiosity as you pass by. And you will look back at them with the same great deal of curiosity.
Occasionally people ask me out of fun why I didn’t choose a faster vehicle like a car, motorcycle or an airplane. But to give answer to an important question if not a silly one, it’s not how long time it takes to get from point a to point b that really matters. Instead it’s what you discover along the way.
Time is not longer controlling you, you realize at one point that time doesn’t even exist. It’s just a definition. But when you all of a sudden take a glance at the clock you’ll see that time does rush by quickly. Not surprisingly when you’re having a good time...
I wanted to see the world from a different perspective. The idea to travel by bike was just a coincidence as I walked into a bicycle store. It was obvious, I already knew. “– I’m going to like this” And needless to say, I did.
The bicycle is a brilliant invention; it can roll over bridges, through cities, countries, continents, valleys, hills, mountains, fields, river deltas, deserts, semi deserts and rain forests. Next to oceans, rivers and lakes. The only limitation is your imagination. And believe me; it’s not a limitation...
It’s an enormous privilege to be able to move around by a man driven vehicle and I can’t think of a healthier way of travelling. It doesn’t get much better than this. The possibilities are endless.
